Focus and Scope
The Global Journal of Black Sexuality and Gender Studies is a progressive interdisciplinary publication dedicated to exchanging latest knowledge and ideas under the categories of Black sexuality and gender studies and every major aspect of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, asexual, questioning or intersex, non-binary, man or woman. We recognise that some individuals may prefer to use labels other than lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, asexual, questioning or intersex, non-binary, man or woman to describe their sexual orientation or gender identity because these identifiers can be oppressive. The journal publishes peer-reviewed original articles, high-quality research papers, personal essays, interviews, focus group discussions, reviews and poetry that tackles all areas of Black sexuality and gender studies. The Global Journal of Black Sexuality and Gender Studies is a scholarly forum and source of information for people involved in the social and behavioural sciences, the arts and humanities, political science and international relations, health and human services and religion and spirituality. The journal provides a distinct, vital and safe space for communication among scholars, researchers, educators, community organisers and political activists linking scholars and work from the global north and south and highlighting the quality of articles produced from the new world.
